Success With Chess

The mission of Success With Chess is to promote chess as an educational tool in school-based and community enrichment programs.  Chess instruction is provided by Chantelle Mitchell.  Chantelle is a United States Chess Federation Club Tournament Director and has taught over 1,000 children in six years how to play chess.  Chantelle has a B.S. in Accounting and a B.S. in Mathematics.

Why Success With Chess?

Each class is structured in a manner that promotes a high level of learning.  Students will enjoy learning chess through many interactive teaching methods as well as friendly competition.  SWC programs motivate students and enchances their higher order thinking skills, improves self-esteem, teaches discipline, and empowers students to succeed. SWC encourages parent involvement and believes in peer interaction.  SWC offers children an opportunity to engage in a positive, mentally engaging activity.  

Who can participate?

SWC accepts children as early as age 4 and at all skills levels. SWC activities are open to all children.

Where are classes offered?

SWC chess clubs, classes, and workshop are currently offered in Macomb Township, Clinton Township, Rochester Hills, and Auburn Hills.
