Hey guys, i just wanted to say a quick hi. we're about to go to Bondi Beach to see what's there.

cirque du soleil was awesome! they did so many cool things and the costumes were unbelievable. after that i got into the city for the first time. its really clean considering how big it is. then today we went back into town to do some shopping, but i didn't get anything very exciting.

dad, you'll be happy to hear that i watched tennis yesterday. needless to say we were pretty much the only ones not cheering for rafter. well, i have to run because everyone is ready to go, but i'll write again soon. i love you :)

Hey guys, Life is busy always. This weekend was nice since we didn't have any class. I got to go to Bondi Beach, which is one of the famous Sydney beaches. Sadly, the weather has been cold, so it wasn't exactly swimming weather. Class today was really interesting. we had two really cool speakers. one was a local landscape artist who talked about his painting and career, in reference to design in general since today we started talking about web design. the other was the lady who is going to be teaching us web design for the next two weeks. she showed us all of her work in multimedia. it was absolutely unbelievable!! Maur, you would have really appreciated it. I'm going to see if i can get a copy of her CD-ROM. She tells these stories of her childhood with sand paintings and then incorporated interactive media on the web. i really think i am going to learn a lot from her, plus she is more of an artist than a computer expert, so its a different perspective th! an what i'm used to. we decided on our web project topic for the group project, with a group of 5. i came up with the idea of focusing on the blue mountains, since we'll be there next weekend and i really wanted to do something outdoorsy. its really nice that we can choose the topic.we have a common page and then we each design our own off of that. not everyone knows web design, so we'll probably break it up differently, since we are all graded together. i'm excited because i get to do adventure sports (absailing, hiking, rockclimbing, mountain biking, caving... i'm not sure how many i'm going to do, but it should be cool). the other groups are doing stuff like advertising in australia or tourism, so i thought it would be fun to do something a little more lively. This afternoon we went to an ad agency. i really think i want to go into advertising, its such an awesome field. every time i learn more about it i get really excited. two guys, who are pretty young and really funny! , gave us an hour long presentation on global marketing, appealing to different audiences, etc. they also showed us some of their most famous ads, which were cool. they are a branch of the biggest company internationally and do ads for big companies like Dannon, Colgate and Jim Beam. The company is called Young &Rubicam if you guys have heard of it. They were really helpful and answered our questions on getting into the field and how to do it (just stuff like ask people if you can come see the firm when you're in college so you can get an idea of what you want to do vs. just asking to send a resume). It was really interesting and I think we're going to a big PR firm at some point next week, which should help me figure stuff out a little better. well, i should go and grab some dinner. I'm going to give you guys a call tomorrow night for Mom's Bday (Hi Mom, happy birthday!!!) I was going to call in the morning, but i figure you guys might be hard to catch on weekday mornin! gs.
