83-84 Steve Ludzik
A tough checking center/winger, Ludzik killed penalties and chipped in the occasional goal for the Hawks throughout
the 80's. He starred in juniors with Steve Larmer... in fact they were mistaken for each other on their rookie cards,
one of the most infamous of hockey card errors. Steve has gone on to coach since retirement... and wear a lot of bad
suits behind the bench.
|1983-84 Steve Ludzik CCM ultrafil knit with Gunzo's & CCM screened on the rear hem. Neck tags removed, about
30 repairs, great marks & burns, and great interior pilling on this one. Neck has been repaired in one spot &
threads are loose in two others, possible fight abuse. A classic 80's Hawks gamer!
83-84 was the only year with CCM screened on the Hawks jerseys. The crest and numbers are made of a glittery-'sparkley'
tackle twill, which was used on the Sandow shirts of 80-81 thru 82-83. Typical of jerseys of this year, although (see
Behn Wilson), sometimes they were mix & matched.
I believe this one may be a match... the Hawks crests are all unique and this one seems to match up... also the wide-mouthed
shoulder "C" and a hole in the sleeve look to be it.
