Water Cycle

Precipitation is very important as without adequate rainfall or snowfall, the earth would become a vast desert.  It also cleans air of pollutants as small dust and dirt particles in the atmosphere attach to the water droplets and are carried to the earth when the rain or snow falls.

The water on earth is continually being changed from one form to another.

This change is the state of matter of water is called the Water Cycle.

There are three steps to the water cycle:

1.               water in lakes and oceans is heated by the sun’s energy and rise into the air    (EVAPORATION)

2.              the water rises high enough to freeze and form a cloud  (CONDENSATION)

3.               the water falls from the cloud as rain, sleet, hail, or snow  (PRECIPITATION)
