This is my reef site. It includes a list of current tank inhabitants and specs on my system. The process and hell my wife and I went through to build it and my future plans for it.
First shot is the couch view and a full tank shot with one of our surround sound speakers on the left:
Next is the side of the tank. After buildint the tank in the wall, a friend gave me two brass portholes to use as decor in my basement. He knew I was going for a nautical theme. One day while my tank was cycling I walked by the side of the tank and came to the realization that I could put a hole in the side and view the tank through the port hole. It was a bit of a problem, because I had to move a main support pillar to my entire house.... all for a porthole, but it was worth it! Take a look:
Here is the other side of the tank. This is the hall way, what you would see as soon as you walk into the basement from the outside. You could look through the tank into our home theater. This is where the closet and bar is. Take a look:
As you turn the corner past the port hole and bar you walk into the theater room, we will get to that in a minute. First lets take a look at the tank and bar. I found a small divers helmet on e-bay which I converted into a tap for Guiness stout. The kegerator is in the back room with PVC cooled beer lines right up to the tap. underneath is a sink and wine fridge and normal fridge. Can't help but grab a guiness when you pass can ya?
Now the theater. Here is a pic of the TV (Lord of the Rings on of course!):
Take a look at the speakers, components and trim work:
I added a docking station for my computer so I can surf the web on the TV and play computer games in surround sound ( did I mention that the surround sound is 7.1, the system was so large that the shippment was delivered by an 18 wheeler out side my house, pretty cool huh?
Now for the Tank inhabitants: the first I will mention is our Cow fish ( he is AWESOME! I call him Mr. Photogenic, he loves the camera)
