Belgians of the 40's, 50's and 60's
from the collection of Robert and Barbara Krohn

I am indebted to Bob and Barbara Krohn for sharing photos from their collection so that you may enjoy the pictorial history.  The information provided with each picture is accurate to the best of my knowledge. I apologize in advance if there are any errors which I will correct if I learn of them.

The Krohns started in Belgians with the acquisition of the Groenendael Zamorane, born July 30, 1950, imported from France by Rudy Robinson along with her brother Zulvo. When Rudy decided to start importing the Tervuren variety, Krohns made the decision to turn their attentions solely to their support and development in the United States. They acquired Chrysis Du Clos Saint Jacques from Rudy when he imported her from Madame Muller as a puppy. Whelped May 20, 1953, Chrysis flew to Rudy in Chicago, and then continued on to her new home in New Mexico by railroad, traveling in a basket.

And so, we end this early pictorial history of the Tervuren in the U.S., with Robert and Barbara Krohn now judging the dogs whose very existence can be credited to their efforts.
