| GREETINGS FROM THE EAST,
For many February means Valentine’s Day and is the month of love. Show your best lady a good time by bringing her to our stated luncheon. She will enjoy some “Girl” time during our meeting and a wonderful meal when we break for brunch. You are on your own for flowers and chocolates. February is the month we hold the annual meeting of the Temple Association immediately following the stated meeting. All Sunnyside members in good standing are members of the Temple Association. For those of you not familiar, the Temple Association is the financial arm of our Lodge and invests the sale proceeds of our former building in a responsible manner. The current nature of the investment market is that the returns are very low on safe investments. Needless to say our operating income for 2011 and likely 2012 are down from past years. It is not time to panic but we should try to be conservative in our expenditures this year. That being said, we would gratefully welcome your monetary gifts or hope that you would remember Sunnyside Lodge in your estate. Either way we hope that you attend the annual meeting on February 11th. One plan to save money is to e-mail the Trestle Board to as many Brothers as possible. We will be working on the logistics over the coming months. If you have an e-mail address please send it to my address below. For those without a computer we will continue to send a paper copy through USPS mail. Congratulations to Brother Steve Becker who gave a fine proficiency for his MM at our January stated meeting. Fraternally, Jim Munson, W.M. (503)720-2802
