TO SUPER HART'S AVAREZ PAGE !
This is a really pretty Alvarez F-style mandolin with solid spruce front and back, fancy pearl and abalone inlays, and gold hardware. Supposedly, this piece was made in the 1970s. While not a vintage Gibson F-5 it has good action and a nice tone to it. The finish is a nice sunburst, the neck is straight, and it has no fretwear whatsoever. I have a lways been fond of the F Style mandolins so I had to jump at the opportunity to own one. For those of you who are beginning to think that by owning a mandolin I am becoming a traitor to the banjo, phooey on ya. One day I want to acquire a bass fiddle and a Dobro too. Dobro??? Hey, that's a grand idea. I wonder where I can scrounge one of them up? heh heh heh
