TO SUPER HART'S DOBRO BANJO PAGE !
This is a really pretty Randy Wood Dobro Banjo done in black walnut. It has a full 10.5 inch resonator cone and a biscuit bridge. The resonator cover is a carved piece of black walnut. The fretboard sports a Vine Inlay pattern using red, green, and purple abalone shell along with white Mother of Pearl. The vine itself is brass wire. It's hard to describe the tone of this instrument, not like an actual dobro because you don't use a slide bar. The sound is more like a fretted resonator guitar but with the destinctive flair of a 5-string banjo mixed in for good flavor. This is certainly not an instrument commonly seen at the local Jam Session.
