Here are some photos of my Paramount Style C Tenor Banjo which which I recently purchased through an eBay Auction.   I plan to make a faithful 5-string neck for this instrument and retain all of the beauty and character that I possibly can from the original tenor neck.   The photos do not really show all the beauty of this instrument with the many laminations in the neck required to give the finished stripe effects.   These laminations are necessary to give the neck overall strength and resistance to bowing and warping as well as impart an appealing beauty.   This strength was especially necessary in the days before steel truss rods were introduced.   I believe that it is imperitive to retain the original character and identity of these vintage instruments when converting them to another form.    I will in no way modify the instrument so that it cannot be easily converted back to its original form.   Should I ever sell this instrument, all original parts including the original case will certainly be included and accompany the banjo to its new owner.

Finally the reproduction 5-string neck is finished and the banjo is converted. Below are some photos of the finished product. This banjo has all the volume, tone, and bass that any bluegrass picker would want yet it weighs a fraction of a typical Gibson Mastertone instrument.
