Descendants of Israel Burket--Narrative

Third Generation

15. Rinehart? Burket80 was born about 1780. born before 1775 according to 1820 and between 1770 and 1780 according to the 1830 (age 50-60) and age 50 to 60 on the 1840 so born between 1780 and 1790

In order to be 50 to 60 on the 1830 census and ALSO on the 1840 census Rinehart would need to be born 1780 making him 50 on the 1830 and 60 on the 1840!!!

that age works perfect with every census year and makes sense with his children's ages etc.

Rinehart, if added to the Jacob Burket family would make the 5 boys necessary to account for four boys under 10 on the 1800 census, Abaraham being 10-16 and the oldest.

The problem with this theory is that he doesn't show up on the tax lists until 1807 and he is married. Would be about 27. I guess the census could be just enough wrong (say the 1830 or 1840) to make the difference. Say he became of age and showed up married age 21. That is only 3 years off of my estimated birth year.

I am not too worried about this. Hey, Jacob had 5 boys and just because they aren't on the church records doesn't mean there is no record. These boys suddenly showing up IN SAINT CLAIR, now that is good evidence that they are the boys of Jacob and his wife. SO it makes perfect sense.

The fact that Lee has a Jacob as son to Rinehart. Makes sense. It would be his grandfather's name! He was taxed in 1805 in Bedford Township, Bedford, Pennsylvania What does it mean?

No Burkets in Bedford borough or township on regular lists.

Rinehart Burket on Single freeman list in Bedford Township but next to his name it says: Gone away. The person right below him is George Kinuff who is also gone away and the indication is for both as such:

This is the same year Israel Dies in Somerset County. What is this all about? Now I don't know whose son he is!!
He was taxed in 1807 in St. Clair Township, Bedford County, Pennsylvania Rynard Burket. Married. Rinehart? was taxed in 1809 in St Clair Township, Bedford County, Pennsylvania He appeared in the census in 1810 in Bedford Township, Bedford, Pennsylvania. 10010-30100 age 26-45 and wife is 16-25 so before 1784 He was taxed in 1814 in Napier Township, Bedford, Pennsylvania Rinehart? appeared in the census in 1820 in Napier Township, Bedford, Pennsylvania. image 6 of 13 on Ancestry. Spelled Rinard Barket. There is a John Barket also here

300110-22001 3 boys under 10 one 16-25 and he is 26-45. TWo girls under 10, two 10-16 and wife is over 45. This fits with the Rinhart in Wheeling!!! Wife is older on the 1840.

There is a John here also. Is he son of Jacob?

200010-10101

2 boys under 10 and John is 26-45. one girl under 10 wife is 16-26 and a female over 45 living with them. Could be her mother. could be our catherine, but I doubt it. He appeared in the census in 1830 in Napier Township, Bedford, Pennsylvania.81 age 50-60 with 00120001-0110001 so wife 50-60 and one boy 10-15 and one boy 15-20, one girl 10-15 and one girl 15-20.

Spelled Bengert on the Ancestry.com index. WOA. Looks like Burgert on the original He appeared in the census in 1840 in Wheeling, Ohio, Virginia. Age 50 to 60 Does Reinhart go here?

I used to think Rinehart was a possible/probable son of George. But he is not listed in the Burket Bible...AND new evidence from summer 2005 tax study suggests he is son of Jacob if he is any relation at all. The reason? He suddenly shows up for the first time on any record married and probably having just turned 21 on the tax lists in ST. CLAIR! My Jacob Burket is the only Burket in St. Clair. He shows up early, too--in 1807. In 1809 he is there again and valued at only 6 cents. ON the 1810 he is married but still no children BUT he is now in Bedford Township and enumerated next to widow Catherine Burket (NOTE: two separate housholds, however). It could be that the family asked Rinehart and wife to care for his elderly and widowed aunt. That would make sense. Especially not having any of their own children to care for at the time.

Here is an idea! What if Rinehart was a son of Jacob and he married his first cousin a daughter of George and so they moved close to her mother (Catherine Swoveland) after her father died?

MOCK this MOCK name comes up again. Jacob's son Abraham married a MOCK!!!

There is a Rinehart Mock in Dublin, Bedford county on the 1810. There are only two Rineharts on the whole of bedford in the census..one is this one and the other Rinehart Mock. Could it be that Widow Catherine Burket was a former mock....Catherine Mock and that she married a burket and named him after her father, Rinehart Mock? Rinehart Mock is over 45 on that census! This is a good clue. Would mean that I would be looking for a Burket that married a Mock.

I have reason to believe Rhinehart is family because he shows up on the 1810 census in Bedford township, Bedford Co. Pennsylvania, next to Catherine Burket (Widowed). 10010-30100 . That means Rinehart's wife is 16-25. Yes, this still makes sense. Three girls under 10, one boy under 10 and I am pretty sure that Catherine is mine-- wife of George. Haven't proven.

Perhaps the Magdalena who married David Rinehart was a Burket...somehow related. Who knows.

There is a David Rinehart with 100 acres 1772 bed township. Intersting. I just found out that David Rinehart was one of the people to whom Israel owed money when he passed away, He is mentioned in the estate records. VERY interesting. There is a David Rhinehart on the Stoyestown church records. HUM. He was a witness to a Schaffer christening in 1813. David married a Magdalena.

Two Centuries in Brothersvalley says that a David Rinehart moved to Frederick County;, Maryland and became an elder in the Pipe Creek Church there in 1771. Perhaps the 1772 David is a son?

A Valentine Rinehart and Elisabeth are on the Stoystown records as parentsr of David born 1807. A Sarah in 1812. Peter Friedlein and wife are witnesses. I have seen them on some of my family christening records as witnesses.

There is a David Rinehard who has a child Maria Susanna born in 1785 baptised 1786 and the witnessess are Jacob Fisher and Anna Maria!!!

Henry Rhoades who had land adjoining Israel's in 1805 married a Rinehart. Catherrine Rinehart in 1738.

A Peter Bengert (Burgert on the original) in Napier on 1830 census 000101-0211101 Peter is 40-50 with a female 50-60 and a female 30-40 which the later is probably his wife. Who is he?

Now I am thinking Rinehart is NOT a son of George--unless George had a son peter as well, which I doubt. These children would have been mentioned in the Burket Bible. 20-30 year old male living with them as well. UGH.

OK, the 50 to 60 year old living with Peter on the 1830 HAS to be Catherine Burket. Say Peter is 40 and Catherine is 60. Makes sense. Peter's wife is only 30 to 40 so more than likely Peter is just barely 40 and Catherine is closer to 60. Or catherine is a sister-in-law to peter and her husband died. She is head of household on the 1810 so must be widowed or older sister in charge of a household where parents have died.

Peter. That is the name of the guy who is a grandson of Jacob Junior who married Julian Weyant and is the progenitor of arnold wayne burket.

The following information comes from Lee at <epaurora@visuallink.com
on 16 February 2004. I don't think he got this from me, as I wouldn't have used bedford borough or Burckhardt. Or Burkett with two t's either. BUT He probably got the father George Burket part from me as I did have him there at one point. Now I am thinking not.
