Here is another bit of information that dad just found. The marriage of two of Garret Burket's siblings.

Isaac burket Jr married Rebecca Rinehart on 9-May-1875 in Morrow County,
Ohio.

Rosanna Burket married George Kulb 16-Jul-1868 in Morrow County, Ohio.

We are really concentrating on this line right now and getting a lot of new (for us) information

I see on Rootsweb that you are researching the Burkett family. My Burketts came from PA. They then went on into Illinois and Michigan. They are Christopher Burket, Sr. (abt 1747-1846) who married Mary Ann Ross, their son Isaac O. Burkhart (1810-1876) who married Barbara Thomas?, their son Garrett Thomas Burkett (1842-1924) who married Amelia Fahlbush.

ISAAC BURKET (BURKHART) was born 1810-1811 in Pa. He married BARBARA (THOMAS ??) ca 1835. BARBARA was born 1819 in Pa and was in Armstrong County in 1862. It is thought ISAAC was the son of CHRISTOPHER BURKET and MARY ANN ROSS of Quemahoning Twp, Somerset County, Pa. The children: Israel b. 21-May-1836, Christopher b. 1-May-1837, Jonathan b. 9-Jan-1840, Garrett Thomas b. 22-Mar-1842, Mary Ann b. 1844, Rosanna b. 8-Oct-1846 and Isaac b. 20-Jan-1849. Here's the information I have on the Armstrong County Burketts. The
first time the Burketts show up in Armstrong County census is in 1840.
Once I found the church records I told you about, Israel is born in 1834
in Armstrong County. This is the earliest record of Burketts in that
county.

1. Isaac Burkhart b 1800-1810 and wife b. 1810---they had Israel and
Jonathan and 4 other kids.
2. Just a few houses away from Isaac in 1840 census, Plum Creek,
Armstrong Co, is Abraham Burkhart and wife Elizabeth. Abraham is born
1800-1810. Is this a brother of Isaac ? No children.
3. Just across the county line into Jefferson County, Pa, is a Samuel
Burket that an Armstrong County researcher identifies as coming from
Bedford County. He had a son Abraham b. 1825. He had a son Isaac
born 1848 by 2nd wife. Other children but don't know names at this
time. Samuel's first wife is Sally Hatfield and I am told they married
in Bedford County. I haven't seen the census on Samuel but based on the
birth of Abraham he would of been born in that 1800-1810 period. I
strongly suspect these three might be brothers but don't know.
4. John Burkett b. 1801 and wife Mary with kids Wm, James,
John, Henry H, May, George Washington, and Lattia b. 1777 and I think
is the mother. I couldn't read film clearly so don't know if this
name spelled right or not.
5. John B. Burkett b. 1799 Pa and wife Sarah b. 1815 and children
Chaney, Catherine, Wm A., Phebe Jane, and Cornelius C.
6. Joseph Burket b. 1814 Pa wife Sarah and children Phebe Jane,
Wm, Mary and Catherine.
7. John George Burkett b. 1820 Pa and wife Leah Margaret with
children Henrick, Alexander, Martha, Samuel, James R. and Elizabeth J.

The above are the Burkets in 1840 and 1850 census. Number 5 and 6
have children similar names and must be closely connected. John number
4 has his mother living in the house. He's right age to be brother to
1,2,3 but the kids names don't include an Israel or Abraham.

What can you tell me about the above Burkets. Any of them go back to
information you might have in Bedford County ?

Can you send me any more information on Christopher Burket ? Did he
live his life in Bedford County ? Is the information you have on him
all from Bedford County ? Where did you get the birthdate of Isaac ?
Is that from a church record in Bedford County ? Do you know the names
of the other children of christopher ? If so I would like to have that
information. How does the name Abraham tie into this line of Burketts
?
