Minutes of meeting held 1 December 2001 at IOOF Hall, 405 N. Columbia St., Olympia, Wash

Meeting called to order by Camp Commander Rod Fleck, commencing with Flag Salute and Pledge of Allegiance.

Members Present: Hal Bellerud, Rod Fleck, Jeff Henningfield, Darrell Holt, Lee Morgan, John Persinger, Ken Richmond, Milton Vaught.

Guests present: none.

Minutes of meeting 15 September 2001 approved as published in Camp Notes, Nov. 2001.

Treasurer's Report given by interim Treasurer Darrell Holt. Approved.

Visiting Committee: Report by Brother Richmond, provisional commander, Gen. John W. Noble Camp 28, Port Angeles. Charter pending.

Applicants presented, voted on and accepted into membership: Glen J. Allison, Jeremiah L. Mehl, Robert C. Holt, James M. Holt and Lee Corbin, honorary member (for his work involving monuments and memorials).

Election of Officers for 2002: Commander - Ken Richmond Senior Vice Commander - Hal Bellerud Junior Vice Commander - John Persinger Secretary/Treasurer - Darrell Holt Camp Council - Lee Morgan, Rod Fleck, Milton Vaught

Old Business: The Snohomish GAR Cemetery "Adopt-a-Vet" project (see meeting minutes for 15 Sept. 2001 was re- viewed. It was decided that the camp would adopt 20 names. Brother Richmond offered to secure the names from Brother Bruce Smith, project coordinator, who was not present.

New Business: Brother Bellerud initiated discussion on offering a donation to the IOOF in light of the generosity offered by them in the use of the meeting facility over the past 61/2 years. It was suggested that a donation might be appropriate. It was moved, seconded and voted with unanimous approval to donate $100 from the camp general treasury to the Benevolent Fund of the IOOF Treasurer Holt was instructed to carry out the camp's wishes.

2002 Camp Calendar -After discussion, the following calendar for 2002 was adopted: March 2, Sat. Business meeting, 11 a.m., Olympia. April 6, Sat. 4th annual 'Honoring Their Memory" ceremony, Snohomish GAR Cemetery; brief meeting. May 25-27 Camp recruitment tent, w/brief evening meeting and dinner Sat., in conjunction w/WCWA event, Spokane June 22, Sat. 6th annual Camp picnic, IOOF Park, Olympia. July 6-7, Sat.-Sun. Camp recruitment tent, Marymoor Heritage Festival, in conjunction w/WCWA event. Aug. 31-Sep. 2 Camp recruitment tent, Fort Stevens, Oregon, in conjunction w/NCWC event. Sept. 14, Sat. Work party, Seattle GAR Cemetery, w/Scattle Parks Dept. and Friends of the GAR Cemetery Dec. 14, Sat. Business meeting, election of offices, canned food collection, IOOF Hall, Olympia. GAR Monument

Commander Fleck brought up the need to clean a newly rediscovered GAR monument located in a city cemetery in Puyallup. An unspecified date between March and August was suggested as the weather would be more cooperative.

Can Food Collection - a significant amount of can goods were collected from nearly all members in attendance. It was decided to donated the collection to the IOOF, earmarking the food for the family of a IOOF member in need.
