28 Mar 2002 Ken Richmond GWOT Honorary Memberships
Our Camp and the Washington chapters of the Allied Orders are offering honorary membership to all active duty military personnel currently engaged in our government's Global War on Terrorism in an expeditionary or service support role. A new "GWOT Membership" page has been added to this web site whereby eligible men and women can apply. Our members join with the Allied Orders in thanking our men and women in uniform for their service and sacrifice as they work to keep our country safe for all of it's citizens.

14 Dec 2002 Darrell Holt 2003 Dues
2003 Camp dues are now by the end of March 2003. Annual renewal is $30.00. A concerted effort is being made to provide our members with membership certificates and cards when renewal is received by the Treasurer. Please remit to retain your membership!

22 Jun 2002 Jeff Henningfield Camp Kepi

Camp #1's official headgear is the kepi stocked by our own Norm Harriman through his sutlery Timeless Stitches. After previewing several samples from different sources, the Camp felt that Norm's kepi was the most authentic and offered the best value. Camp members may add insignia reflecting their ancestor's unit, also available through Norm. He will need to know the circumference of your head in order to provide the best size. The complete works can be had for under $30.00.

5 Apr 2002 Ken Richmond April 27th Events
We've been invited to perform a Medal of Honor grave marker dedication on Saturday, April 27, at 2:00. The location is the old Tacoma Cemetery, 48th and South Tacoma Way. We will be honoring Major General John W. Sprague, 63rd Ohio Vol. Inf. MG Sprague was instrumental in the railroading industry in Washington, was a co-founder of Tacoma, a GAR Dept. commander, to name a few of his accomplishments. He was awarded the MOH posthumously in 1894, a year after his death. The action to earned him the Medal took place July 22, 1864, during the Battle of Atlanta. His grave has gone without a MOH marker for 108 years, until the efforts of Camp Brother Lee Corbin changed that. Please mark you calendar and make every effort to attend.
