Father's Day - 2007

We had a great day today celebrating Father's Day with Dave, Amy, Lizzie and Rachel! We headed over to Dublin for Sunday brunch at the Hilton, and then back over to Orinda up to Tilden park where we caught a ride on the steam trains, and took a spin on the old carosel.

Our brunch was temporarily interrupted by a false fire alarm which resulted in the evacuation of the entire restaurant. After the alarm was cancelled, we made it back to our food and continued to gorge.

Weather was beautiful, especially up at Tilden. Lots of families were out celebrating.

Rachel is a funny little person. She's 22 months, and despite the fact that she is not speaking yet, she is extremely communicative. Whether its making faces to show her frustration, or signing for more food, she's adept at getting what she wants.

Cotton candy at the carosel was a real highlight. Lizzie's first order was gobbled up by Amy and Cindy while Lizzie took a ride.

Nature is amazing.
Saturday, June 16, 2007,9:23 PM
Nature is amazing.

Hiking to Pope's today and we stumbed upon this crazy flower near our neighbors house .. Cindy discribed it as looking like alien jellyfish.

We have no idea what the name of it is, but it was really amazing.

The stamin were almost identical to the stargazers we get at Trader Joe's all the time.

Joe mentioned he has seen these near his house in Sausolito but there the flowers were pointed upward.

If anyone knows what this thing is called, let us know!

Visit to Pope!
,8:31 PM
Joe came over for lunch today. Had a great time BBQing on the back patio. After lunch, Cindy, Joe and I hiked down to Pope's for a visit.

We hung out for a few hours, playing with Chelsea on the back lawn. It was a gorgeous day!

Knocked Up!
Sunday, June 10, 2007,1:12 AM
I took Cindy out on a date to see Judd Apatow's new movie "Knocked Up". We laughed our asses off particularly due to our current adventure. We give it three tumbs up. The movie is hilarious.

If you haven't seen it, go out and see it now. You won't be dissappointed.

Baby Beats!
Sunday, June 3, 2007,9:46 PM
We recently rented a Fetal Doppler, which is a device that allows you to listen to and monitor the baby's heartbeat. Such an incredible experience. Felt like we were tuning in strange radio signals from a distant planet!

We recorded a sample for fun:

Baby's heartbeat (~160 bpm)

We were having so much fun, we decided to record our own heartbeats!

Cindy's heartbeat (~82 bpm)
Sean's heartbeat (~80 bpm)

Dopplers are available online for about $20 per month.. We got ours at BabyBeats.com -- http://www.babybeat.com/index.html
