We finally got up a site extension to start documenting a bunch of projects we've been wanting to work on.. We just finished the first one -- a cool programmable mood lamp!

Having Fun
Monday, November 19, 2007,8:29 PM
It's amazing to watch Lila develop. She's been very alert and active lately, especially at certain times of the day. She loves to hang out on our bed and listen to music!

We introduced her to James Taylor tonight..

Sorry for the crappy video quality. Working through technical difficulties with a new camera. In the meantime, we're still using the movie function in the old Olympus digital still camera.

Odd Visitor
Wednesday, November 7, 2007,8:47 PM
This morning we came down to find we had an odd visitor in the living room. Somehow a small bird made its way into the house (odds are thru the fireplace).

Brief attempts to allow him to leave resulted in the little guy flying straight toward a window where he crashed and was knocked unconscious under the piano.

We managed to scoop him up and take him outside. We took advantage of him still being stunned to take some great close ups!

Lila's Morning Routine
,8:38 PM
About a week ago, Cindy started Lila's morning routine of watching the great mobile that Jason and Onny Botta sent over (thanks guys!). She gets totally involved watching the cool components twirl around and the music is one of our favorites!

video

Also wanted to test video uploads. This is the first video we've taken (using our old Olympus digital). Apologies for the crappy quality. We're in the market for a decent HD video camera -- let us know if you have any recommendations!

Bath Time!
Tuesday, November 6, 2007,8:53 AM
Lila had her first bath yesterday. Judging from her expression after getting put in her towel, we think she definitely enjoyed the new experience.

Her favorite part was having warm water poured over her big belly!

Thank you Auntie Amy for all the great bath supplies!

Vescechat is live!
Sunday, November 4, 2007,9:56 PM
We successfully got a good portion of the Vesce's online for a simultaneous multi-way video chat for the second time. We had three timezones represented (PST, EST, and EEST [Finland]). It's amazing and totally free. We use Skype for the audio conferencing and mebeam.com for the simultaneous multi-way video feeds. The quality is excellent with almost no lag in the audio or video.

We only have four remaining issues:

1) Joe has no internet connection at his house
2) Despite receiving a webcam from Steve-O, Jay and Kelly have yet to be home at the pre-arranged time.
3) Nana Rita won't have access to a computer until she arrives at her new place in mid November.
4) Maria needs to get a fridge near her computer so she doesn't have to get up for bon-bons

This week we discussed ideas for a family vacation for summer 2008 and Bill gave a report on Ketil Thorkelsson, and ancient Icelandic hero. Lila made her second guest appearance on vescechat, but had to leave due to an unforseen "blowout".

In other news, Ryan and Kate got a blog going to document their adventures in Finland.

We look forward to getting the full Vesce clan online for future Vescechats!

Yum Cha!
Saturday, November 3, 2007,7:22 PM

Chinese tradition calls for a banquet to celebrate a new born when she turns one month old. Family and friends join from near and far to meet the new addition and "yum cha" (literally "drink tea" and share yummy Dim Sum!).

We're celebrating Lila's arrival at one of our favorite Dim Sum spots, Hong Kong East Ocean Seafood in Emeryville on Saturday, November 17th at 11:30AM.

Email us if you're in town and can join the fun!
