UPDATES AND REMINDERS FOR THE WEEK OF NOVEMBER 16
LANGUAGE ARTS: We will conclude our unit, Nature’s Delicate Balance, with the reading and discussion of “The Great Kapok Tree”. Our English and vocabulary quizzes will be on Wednesday, November 18; the spelling quiz and comprehension quizzes will be on Friday, November 20.
MATH: We will continue our multiplication and division unit. We will begin chapter 8 (Multiply by Tens) and will have a quiz on Friday, November 20.
SOCIAL STUDIES: Mrs. Denis will continue our Colonization of North America unit; chapters 5-6 will be used as a resource but will not be discussed lesson by lesson. This week will finish our discussion of the Middle Colonies. This week will be a wrap-up week. Mrs. Cray’s class will have a Unit test on Wednesday. Mrs. Wexler’s class will take the Unit test on Thursday.
SCIENCE: We will continue discussing Chapter 2: What Objects Are in the Solar System? The Quiz date will be announced in class.
REMINDERS:
November 23-27: Thanksgiving Holidays
December 14: 4th Grade presents “The Nutcracker” (Two performances in a.m.; one performance at 7:00 p.m.)
December 18: End of second semester
PERSONAL NOTE:
As some of you have heard, this will be my last week of Student Teaching. Friday, the 20th, will be my last day. I want to thank you for sharing your children with me these past few months. They have made this experience so valuable for me. I have learned so much from them. I also appreciate your participation. I could not have asked for a better group of students or parents!

- 1 package of 5-subject dividers for binder
- 1 package of wide-ruled loose leaf notebook paper (ongoing through the year)
- #2 lead pencils (ongoing throughout the year)
- 1 package of colored pencils
- 1 pack of crayons
- scissors
- 2 glue sticks
- 1 single subject spiral notebook (wide ruled paper)
- 2 folders with pockets and brads
- zippered pencil pouch that can be attached to ringed binder
