Feedback

[PLAY]

   track 1 time 4:02

In cybernetics and control theory, feedback is a process whereby some proportion of the output signal of a system is passed (fed back) to the input. This is often used to control the dynamic behavior of the system. Examples of feedback can be found in most complex systems, such as engineering, architecture, economics, and biology. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feedback

Therein lies Everyman's Power.

It's too easy to forget.

Don't forget.

lyrics:

Breathing

breathing -- share your secret -- breathing

i said it too fast when i recorded it -- share your secret

breathing -- i recorded my voice saying "Yeah" -- breathing

this evolves and grows and recedes to a pure wave that
then grows micro tones before resolving in chordal heaven
share your secret -- breathing

breathing -- hey get those cameras out of our house
cos i reckon he is in disguise

breathing -- share your secret

share your secret -- funny
this evolves and grows and recedes to a pure wave that
then grows micro tones before resolving in chordal heaven

breathing -- share your secret -- breathing

hey get those cameras out of our house -- breathing
this is personal sh*t i'm talkin bout here
share your secret

breathing -- hey get those cameras out of our house
share your secret -- cos i reckon he is in disguise

breathing -- this isn't funny
I thought that's what you did -- breathing
ooops how did i get here??

breathing -- I thought that's what you did
hey get those cameras out of our house

breathing

Cleft Synaptic

[PLAY]

   track 4 time 3:52

A song dedicated to Sarah Tonin.

She hangs around until you get the message. At the very moment that your perceptions change polarity, she is gone. Her job is done here.

Sippin' From The Big Dipper

[PLAY]

   track 5 time 5:08

Space is huge.

Ula Hemla

[PLAY]

   track 6 time 5:08

I once was deeply in love with Ula Hemla. Infatuated. Obsessed. But that was another lifetime. On a long and winding road.

For many years this place was called "The Seven Sacred Pools" a name that was actually a marketing gimmick intended to attract tourists to the area (the pools are not sacred and there aren't seven of them). It is a series of lovely waterfalls and swimmable pools that cascade until reaching the ocean at the volcano's base. The flow of water that made its way through volcanic rock and rain forest engulfs the place with lush vegetation. It's a very lovely spot.

Rolling Down

[PLAY]

   track 8 time 3:03

lyrics:

Rolling Down

It's a sail!

Save an extra thirty percent,
Or twenty percent, or ten percent on

Everything.

And the fog rolls in...

Why don't you tell me why we're goin' to the ocean?
Why don't you tell me why we're goin' to the sea?
Rolling down to the sea.
...Twenty percent, or ten percent on everything...

Why don't you tell me why we're goin' to the ocean?
Why don't you tell me why we're goin' to the ocean?
Rolling down to the sea.
...And the fog rolls in: it rolls into your mind...

Why don't you tell me?
Why don't you tell me?
Rolling down to the sea.
Rolling down to the sea.

Why don't you tell me why we're goin' to the ocean?
Why don't you tell me why we're goin' to the sea?
Rolling down to the sea.
It's a sail!

And the fog rolls in; it rolls into your mind:
"Save an extra thirty percent, or twenty percent,
or ten percent on everything."

It's a sail!

Rolling down to the sea...

Piano

[PLAY]

   track 9 time 5:29

A black and white photograph of a memory...

based on J. S. Bach's Two-Part Invention No. 4

lyrics:

Piano

i remember
when you were just a little girl
my sister... playin' the piano
every day after school

life was simply
school buses
passing notes in math class
lunch hour
recess

times were different then
simpler then

and i can still remember... those days
after school...
my sister... playin' the piano

those days have morphed... before my eyes
you're a woman now
with a daughter
playin' the piano

Lucky

[PLAY]

   track 10 time 4:07

Lucky

Some sort of pseudo-jazz-like old-pop contraption with horns.

Usually, as the days get shorter this time of year, I find myself getting rather depressed. There's an official name for that condition, with a truly appropriate acronym. So it's a doubly good thing that this upbeat tune showed up on my doorstep this week. As I opened the door, I think I may have caught a glimpse of the Muses Express delivery van driving off. I'm lucky to have come up with this tune, and lucky to enjoy listening to it. Hope you enjoy it too!

Smokey's Embers

[PLAY]

   track 12 time 5:07

This is a mostly orchestral version of Drakonis' song Ember - Rekindled.

Thou still unravish'd bride of quietness,
Thou foster-child of Silence and slow Time,
...
'Beauty is truth, truth beauty,
Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.'

-- John Keats, "Ode on a Grecian Urn"
