This tune is for the 3rd Loop It Or Lose It Challenge.
Notes about what I did:
This is actually two songs welded together into one. I didn't think it would be fair to submit two songs...
part one (120 BPM)
Funk_EGtr_Emaj_011 - transposed up to A
Funk_EGtr_Emaj_011 - processed through West Coast Wah
TUMi-Glitchbeat 2
TUMi-ElectroBeat5
TUMi-BigBeat 1 - fragments
Greek Sirtos Doumbek 20
Latin Danza Drumset 05 - first 15 beats of 16 in the loop
Latin Spice Percussion 01 - first 14 beats of 16 in the loop
Jamaican Sora Drumset 06 - first 13 beats of 16 in the loop
original synth bass guitar loop
original synth clav loop
original real electric guitar loops through Amp Sim and West Coast Wah
part two (40 BPM)
Funk_EGtr_Emaj_011 - as is, and transposed down one octave
Funky Pop Drums 03 - split into Left, Right, and Middle - bass drum in middle with no reverb
original vocals through Vocal Transformer female to male, down 3 more steps

A more upbeat refactoring of "All Through The Universe".
I transcribed the vocals to piano by playing along with the other song.
Then I made up a new chord progression built of minor ninths, and recast the melody to the new chords.
I upped the tempo and had some fun creating a guitar loop, and a bass loop.
Then I recorded some improvs on piano, mixed it up, and put some of it on a flute track.

A poem about want.
I debated whether to repeat "I want" on each phrase or not... in print it seems unneeded, but when spoken, it seems to lend a certain cohesiveness to it. What do you think?

i want
food
a warm bed
to be loved
a safe place
assurance
a soft pillow
everything
a future
summer vacation
to hit a home run
trust
to be liked
freedom
to be with my friends
the truth
to be tall
an easy path from here to the bar
& back home
physical love
to finish school
liberty
to be a rock star
world peace
to be a poet
a quiet day with a clear blue sky
to live out my life with you
happiness
technology
a music box that plays in-a-gadda-da-vida
your attention
if just for a few moments
the occasional soft day
a comfortable shoe
to be competent
a good night's sleep
to live out my life with you
a crackling fire in the fireplace
to know my children
will live good lives
my doubts to be eased
emotional love
snow on firs
to be on the team
a job well done
to be left alone
a cat in my lap
crickets singing at night
a fire truck
going somewhere else
more time
a light breeze rustling the trees
three day weekends
to be free of wants
simplicity
towering cumulus clouds
no aches & pains
thunder, in the distance
to be a poet
freedom
to know my grandchildren
will live good lives
peace of mind
to be remembered
a small bowl of vanilla ice cream
insurance
a past
to retire
my fears to vanish
summer vacation
to live out my life
with you
one of those big burgers they used to sell
with onions
that's all
i want

Once again, I'm unsure about the genre. Perhaps it's light rock/ballad?
A song ostensibly about driving a Firebird to Phoenix.
Originally posted as a poem We'll Get To Phoenix Someday Soon.
I transformed it pretty much unchanged into this song.

We'll Get To Phoenix Someday Soon
1.
My buddy and me are driving this beat up Firebird
(Across the desert sands)
My buddy and me are driving this beat up Firebird
(Across the desert sands)
We'll get to Phoenix someday soon
We'll get to Phoenix soon...
2.
My buddy and me are driving this stolen Firebird
(Across the shifting sands)
My buddy and me are driving this stolen Firebird
(Across the shifting sands)
If there's a God in heaven
He'd be driving this car
Chasing the moonlight
On His way to Phoenix
Destination far away
But getting closer every day
We'll get to Phoenix soon...
3.
My lover and me are driving a silver Firebird
(Across the burning sands)
My lover and me are driving a silver Firebird
(Across the burning sands)
I could be happy for the rest of my life
But the war drums beat in Babylon
~ ~ ~
Destination far away
But getting closer every day
We'll get to Phoenix soon...
4.
My soulmate and me are driving our golden Firebird
(Across the endless sands)
My soulmate and me are driving our golden Firebird
(Across the endless sands)
What's it like to live five hundred years?
What's it like to love five hundred years?
Listening to that serious radio
Listening to my cinnamon girl
(Always making old things new)
Listening to that cinnamon girl
On our way to Phoenix
~ ~ ~
5.
My shadow and me are driving that antique Firebird
(I'm driving with no hands)
My shadow and me are driving that antique Firebird
(Look Ma! No hands!)
We know how this movie's ending
But I need another chance
The radio keeps on telling
The same damn lies
We'll get to Phoenix someday soon
We'll get to Phoenix someday soon
We'll get to Phoenix someday soon
We'll get to Phoenix soon...
