free * fall

fall. a nip in the air, a change in our lives.
look! yellow, orange and flaming red leaves:
quickly they fall and there they are, rustling on the drives.
memories.
cool days and even cooler nights, summer leaves
me.
if i never saw you again, i would cry
but i suppose i would survive.
my skin seems to have become like that
of an old man -
but how could that be?
i can imagine the drifts already...

one by one they fall from the trees.
my days are fewer than they seemed before.
the days seem darker;
the joy of spring still lives in my memory
somewhere.
but it escapes me now.
what can i say?
the paper points out yet another
soul has passed away.
