Mist

Mist!
I've been smitten
Since you were just a kitten
Mist!
I've been smitten
Since you were just a kitten

You are black, and you know it
You can hide right before me
Close your eyes on the carpet
Disappear: you evade me

Touch my face, Sunday dawning
Catch a mouse - catch a catnap
Touch my life, every morning
Jumping up into my lap

Touch my face, Sunday dawning
Catch a mouse - catch a catnap
Touch my life, every morning
Jumping up into my lap

Pounce!
Catch my shoelace
Run away. Where's that catface?
Catch my shoelace
Run away. Where's that catface?

One meow. Can't resist her
Kneading paws... purring softly
Flip that tail, twitch that whisker
Always near: always with me

Mist!
I've been smitten
Since you were just a kitten

Mist!
I've been smitten
Since you were just a kitten

~~~~~~~~
Close your eyes, twitch a whisker
You are gone. Right before me
Missed
On December 15, 2004, our cat Misty passed away. We had to put her down. She had a bad heart, yet she had a very good heart. When she was young, we were told she had at most a year to live. Yet, Misty graced our lives for ten years. We were there with her in her last moments on earth, her last breath. Our lives were better because of her love. We will miss her very much.
listening to Nu Sungo - Spyro Gyra
(think: a wake, a pattern, 1.2.3..1.2.3.4..)
then listening to The Unknown Soldier - also Spyro Gyra
(think: awakening, why is a cat's life like a human life?)
A recounting of the loss of another special cat inspired this song.
