the little surfer dude
on the sandy shore
building castles
splash out into the ocean
fall in face first
spit salty mouthfuls
then wade out into the deeper waters
gradually learning
about surfing the waves
initially we didn't realize
how big the waves out there could get
yet we ventured out innocently
it was easy so we explored
eventually getting at least part way
up some of the bigger waves
yet only a few of us
got to shoot the curl
venture inside the green cathedral
and now the foam washes up on the shore
the thunder rolls
massive energy dissipates
here am i
under my umbrella watching
the little surfer dude
