Jim W. Tackitt, President/Editor, is a retired Photography/Computer Graphics & Printing instructor, and is the founding president of The Tackett Family Assn. He, and his late wife, the former Shirley Van Gieson, have five children. Jim, who first passed the exam for Certified Genealogical Record Searcher in 1968, was subsequently listed in Who's Who in Genealogy,Vol. 1. He is a past President & Editor for The Contra Costa Co. [Calif.] Genealogical Society and has lectured extensively on genealogical related subjects in the San Francisco Bay area for the past 30 years. Jim and the late A. Maxim Coppage, were co-compilers of "Stafford Co., VA, 1800-1850," (1980). He also has been Keynote Speaker at several National Tackett Family Reunions.

Juble Tackett, 1922-1999, late 1st Vice President, was a retired Business Education instructor with the Pike Co., KY School System and was our most knowledgeable family historian on the early Tackitt families of the Pike & Floyd Co., KY area. He and his wife, the former Esta L. Campbell, have two children. A founding officer of the family assn., Juble was also a founding officer of The Tackett Reunion Assn. and had long been active as a photographer of "old family photos" in the Pike/Floyd Co., KY area. Hundreds of these photos are available for our membership.

Howard Russell Tackitt, 1914-2005, Treasurer Emeritus, of the organization, is the eldest of the group, and is the father of, Jim W. Tackitt. Howard and his wife, the former Julia Contreras, also have three children.

Although he was never an "official" officer, we pay our respects here to our mentor, inspiration, dear friend, Pikeville host, and longtime officer, founder, and unofficial "Public Relations Director" for the Tackett Reunion, the late Hassell Tackett, 1903-1994.

Jim and Juble have been researching the many branches of the Tackett/Tackitt Family since the 1950's. Can you help carry on this tradition?
