Tackett-Tackitt Family Queries
Page upated 30 Jun 2001
There are three easy ways in which you can submit queries:
1. Use the Tackett Website Guestbook, found at the bottom of the page on the Tackett Assn. Home Page. This is for messages for public viewing only - not for private messages. Please see additional details below on how to write queries that get results.
2. Private email to Jim W. Tackitt. These queries must include your full name, the names in each generation back to the ancestor you are asking about and your regular USPS mailing address. Please see additional details below on how to write queries that get results.
3. Use the Tackett-Tackitt Query Forum, a service of RootsWeb, now owned by Ancestry.com. This is just one of hundreds of such surname and county/state query boards available. Please see additional details below on how to write queries that get results.

We request that your GenConnect queries follow some simple guidelines:
1. The query should contain the surname of TACKETT or any variation thereof [Tackitt, Tacket, Tackkett, Tacquett, etc.]. Queries that do not contain this surname variation will likely be removed.
2. The query board should not be used for "chit chat:" (personal messages). For this, please use private email.
3. Queries should include your full name, not just your first name or a screen name/nickname. We also recommend that when answering queries with your private email that you give the recipient the courtesy of your USPS address as well.
4. No profanity or flaming.
5. Queries that contain the full name of the sender may be answered directly on the Forum Board by the administrator. If you wish a private answer, you may send a duplicate of the message with your name and regular USPS mailing address, along with a brief of your direct Tackett line, directly to Jim W. Tackitt.
Good queries contain the magic WHO, WHERE & WHEN and perhaps WHY.
a. WHO are you searching for? (give full known birth names, not just a nickname).
b. WHERE was the subject(s) born, lived, married & died (county/state)?
c. WHEN were they born, married and died? (approx. dates better than none)
d. WHY are you searching? Some folks are cautious about giving out family information.
Please check the Tackett Assn. GUESTBOOK for over 100 queries/comments.
