Hi my name is Mike Adams, I'm in my mid 40's with a wonderful wife and four kids ranging from 14 to 7 years of age.  My father passed on his outdoor passion to me when I was a young child.  He took me through the woods of Michigan teaching me the hunting ways of life.  As I grew older I took my first Michigan buck at 17 years of age.  I took my first Michigan Black Bear in 2000, and my first Eastern Wild Turkey in 2004.  Last year I went duck and goose hunting with my oldest son for the first time and took my first duck, we also were fortunate enough to do some rabbit hunting as well.  This January I also took my first coyote.  I have had the fortune of hunting the woods and fishing the waters of Michigan for some time.  It is now time for me to pass along that passion to my children and anyone else who wishes to come along for the ride.  We here at the Up North Journal focus on passing that information along to new hunters and young hunters.  We love to see the smiles on the kids faces when they see a bullseye hit with an arrow or a bullet.  Getting kids involved is our goal to help pass along our great outdoor heritage.  As we like to say here at the Up North Journal "Shoot Straight and Be Safe".
