Expectations of swimmers and divers

  1. Perfect attendance, if possible. Only sickness, family and occasional academic reasons are valid excuses.
  2. A commitment to Tahoma High School swimming. When you finish the season it is hoped that you walk through the halls proud of what you and your team accomplished. People who "get by" and don't commit rarely if ever are proud of what they have done. Some tough choices often need to be made and swimming shouldn't come after other things (dances, football games, boyfriends, jobs, sleeping in on Saturdays, etc.)
  3. A good effort in all classes. I should always receive positive comments from your teachers about your effort and attitude. Anyone failing any classes will work on that class in learning lab (after school) until the grade raises.

Lettering

  • Swimmers will letter by scoring Varsity points (the number of points depend on the number of meets) or qualifying for Districts.
  • Divers will letter by qualifying for Districts (subject to coaches approval).
  • Attitude and poor attendance may jeopardize an athlete's lettering privileges.
