I finished my Jaywalkers this morning.  What a great fitting sock.
I can't wait to see how the yarn wears.  It seems nice and sturdy.
Some of my handknit socks are really pilling already, but this yarn
seems very pill resistant.

Sipping and Knitting Goodness

I made it knitting at the Poulsbohemian again yesterday. I had lots of fun. The knitting barista boy cracks me up. He is not unlike a highschool aged Casandra :P Another new chick showed up and she was awesome... Mary I think? I'm horrible with names. This group definitely skews geeky, geeky knitters what could be better? Next week is mad tea party themed, I'm so dressing up :)

I knit mostly on my 2nd jaywalker last night. Mary got bonus for points for looking over and saying "Sock?...Jaywalker?" ahhh net knitters unite.

Taking a picture of my finished Jaywalker yesterday was all the poking I needed to get the second one cast on last night. I'm a couple inches in already. Socks make such a good commute knit. Once I finish these puppies I have purple and green socks that rock, swoon. I'm thinking of trying a toe up pattern next.

Well I did indeed bring the noro cash iroha sweater to an abrupt halt.
It just wasn't doing it for me.  I ripped out the sleeve (again),
put the body on some spare yarn so I could try it on, and decided
it was a bit too big and the shaping a little off.  I put it in time out.
It will probably sit in my basket until inspiration strikes :)

So what have I been knitting for the last week?
Well I finished up Jaywalker #1 at the Sip and Knit at the Poulsbohemian.

Then rather than cast on sock #2 like a sensible person, I cast on for the samus sweater from knitty. I bought the yarn for this sweater during Linda's sale back in December. I'm mixing Noro Kuryeon and some heathery Lamb's Pride Worsted. I must say I've been having a blast making this sweater. It's nice working from a pattern and not having to do the math :) It's also been a while since I knit something so heavy/substantial. I keep burying my face in the wool like I'm snorgling a lamb, lol. TMI I know.

Progress has been really fast. I did have quite a bit of time over the weekend to knit though. I just finished up the main body this afternoon and cast on for the first sleeve. I'm going to do both of the cuffs and then work both sleeves together.

Here's a sloppy picture of the sweater so far. I can't quite capture the subtleness of the colors. There isn't such a stark difference between the various shades irl.

Here's a close up of the cable

Oh, before I forget. I also got a picture of Evan in his cardigan. He's such a little man. I posted this to Knitting on LJ and everyone remarked about what a serious face he has on.
