| The Holy Flower of Buddhism - Lotus Flower |
This is the central part of Womb-Container Realm (Garbha-kosa dhatu) Mandala -- an eight-petaled lotus flower: ![]() Basically, this flower represents everyone's Heart, which is the source of the universe. Everyone's Heart is like a flower, but most of these flowers are closed and withered. Why so many rich people are depressed and unhappy? This is the reason. Money and possessions are not the foods for our Hearts. What our Hearts truly need are Merits, the holy energies. When one's Heart -- the flower, receives some merit, he or she becomes happier, because the flower gets the nourishment it need, and opens a little bit, becoming softer and more vivid. As the Zohar says:
From what my soul has seen, my heart is illuminated. Hence my face is smiling. (V22V.21) the heart (God) takes from the liver only that which is pure and clean, leaving all the foulness for Samael, who distributes it to the idol worshipping nations.(V20.61) ...everything that the liver is holding it sacrifices to the heart, which is the King, to nourish him. And it is neither the way of that heart, nor its desire, the foulness of the deeds of His people, but He takes everything that is clear and pure, NAMELY all the merits and the good deeds, while all the foulness, the filth and the dirt, which are the bad deeds He leaves for the liver.....(V20.61) When this holy flower is matured, it will give birth to a fruit -- from inside the center of the flower, a baby appears, like this: ![]() ![]() ![]() A Buddhist term for this situation is The Flower Opens and The Buddha Appears (花開見佛), while the Confucian term for this is When the Heart Opens, the Truth is Revealed (開心見誠). |

The Scripture of Yellow Court's Inner and Outer Jade-like Scenes says: The Heart is the King of the body, it rules all the five viscera. [The Original Chinese Texts] The Eight-Trigrams can be divided into two types -- Uncreated Eight-Trigrams & Created Eight-Trigrams:
Uncreated Eight-Trigrams
Created Eight-Trigrams The Uncreated Eight-Trigrams represents the status before one ( a person or an universe ) 's birth, while the Created Eight-Trigrams represents the status after one's birth.
