In the first game of the 2005 season away at the ball field at Saint Margaret McTernan School in Waterbury Connecticut, the mighty Simsbury Taverneers battled the Waterbury Connors in an era of play that is less familiar to the Taverneers (1860's).  With several new team members, the Taverneers struggled a bit making some strategic errors but overall played a strong game with excellent hitting, fielding, and base running.  The Taverneers look forward to a rematch with the Connors on May 15, 2005.
