Simsbury Taverneers: Not Enough

Providence Grays: Too Many

The Simsbury Taverneers traveled to East Providence, Rhode Island on a glorious and sunny but blazingly hot summer day with a minimum team contingent.  Due to summer vacation schedules many regular team members were unable to attend the game so the Taverneers played with a core team and several guest players.  Special thanks and a welcome to Jack Gatzuras and Dom Tocci for playing on our team today.

With temperatures in the mid-90's and high humidity, our team found play difficult especially given how well the Providence Grays played.  The Taverneers make no excuses... we were simply understaffed and outplayed for the day.

Nevertheless, the Taverneers always enjoy playing the Grays so it was still a great day to play Vintage Base Ball, enjoy a summer day, and enjoy the comraderie of the game with the Providence Grays who we look forward to a rematch with next season.
