Career:
Originally hailing from the anthracite coal
region of Scranton, Pennsylvania, Irish
moved to Connecticut 25 years ago dreaming
of a new life outside of the coal mines. He
hung up his miners helmet and now spends his
days tinkering with those new-fangled fancy
computational machines that help run one of
the big insurance companies in Hartford, and
spends his evenings with his wife and two
boys at his home in Simsbury.
Away from the ball fields in body (though
not in spirit) for a number of years, Irish
hopes to find the baseball skills that he
left behind on the Little League fields of
North Scranton and the softball diamonds of
South Windsor.
