Career:  Buckwheat reached local prominence in West Hartford, Connecticut when he hit a grand slam in the league championship game when he was 11 years old.  Unfortunately, that was the peak of his base ball and athletic prowess.  Since that magical day his career has been in a slow and painful slide downward but the speed of the decline has increased in recent years.  Buckwheat was recruited by Lucky to play with the Taverneers but it was soon discovered that he had an unusual propensity for getting injured.  The Taverneers have since had to stock up on ice bags and pharmaceuticals to keep Buckwheat happy and in playing shape.  It is the hope of the Taverneers that Buckwheat will be able to survive his inaugural season.
