CareerJohn is a fan favorite everywhere he plays, affectionately known as "Le Scrapey" (not to be confused with scrappy)  in the province of Quebec for his all around fine play and demeanor.  Scrapey is credited for the invention of the batters box, as his ability to run up to the ball and hit it as he entered the box, infuriated pitchers for years.  He was born and raised in Simsbury, and earned his keep working in the family road improvement/payroll management business.  Later he started many successful businesses including the first hot sandwich shop in Connecticut.  Scrapey was enjoying semi-retirement when the Taverneers came calling.
