Career:
Sparky left the Granite State three
decades ago, where he had honed his base ball
skills on the frosty, undulating fields around
the twin-states region of Hanover. Some of his
early games in Quechee, Vermont featured fields
with cow pies for bases and opponents who came
with bull whips to motivate their weaker
hitters. While pursuing his education in Maine,
Sparky split time playing base ball in the
shadow of Coach Winkin’s boys with time
splitting firewood along the Kennebec. Lucky discovered Sparky throwing
horseshoes at a neighborhood 4th of
July party. After a short rookie season
with the Taverneers, Sparky clearly appreciates
both the Taverneers' zest for the game and their
competitive civility.
With the granite of NH in his muscles and his
brains Sparky hopes his versaility will help the
Taverneers to an even better season this year. |
