You can't start an anti-homework revolution, but here are some things to do that can help with homework:
Finish it right after school. This way, you can have the rest of the day to vege out in front of the tube, e-mail, talk on the phone, shoot baskets, play with your dog or hang out with your friends.
Turn homework into a group activity. Do it with a friend, a brother or sister. At least you won’t feel so alone—and there are people to gripe with. And they can offer help with homework. a homework helper or two will make the job easier. it will definitely offer camaraderie and some homework help.
Take your favorite snacks to the place where you do your homework. Brianna, age 11

Should parents help with homework? Sure they can. They can give homework help and explain homework, but they can't be such a homework helper that they're actually doing it for you. They've gone through middle school and don't want to totally repeat the experience.
