As soon as we had returned from our prior trip to Senegal, we began planning for the next one. We talked to our congregation and our friends. Carol Meynen was invited to several speaking opportunities at churches and civic groups. We encouraged people to consider joining us or mounting their own mission trips to Senegal.
Before planning could move into scheduling, we had to answer some questions:
Should we keep the same medical emphasis? What should we change from the approach we took the prior year?
Pastor Chris Hoffmeyer had been moved by the conference bishop from Trinity UMC to Irving Park UMC in Chicago. Could she return with us as the team's spiritual leader?
Could we attract other persons with valuable skills to the team?
