CLASS RULES, CITIZENSHIP, AND CLASS EXPECTATIONS:

Each student receives a complete listing of my class rules, citizenship requirements, and class expectations.   They are posted in my room and on my web site (seitz.has.it).   The school's code of conduct is strictly enforced. Students must write down and keep their "Student Number" and "Pin Number."

GRADING SYSTEM:

All grades are recorded as points.   For example, a quiz may equal 38 points and a homework assignment 12 points.   I compute a student's grade by totaling all possible points and dividing these points into the cumulative points earned by each student.   A simple and fair percentage system is then used to compute the student's point total to a letter grade.   Computerized grading lists will be posted weekly.   Names will be listed using a confidential number code. The percentage system I use is:

98.0 - 100.00 = A+ 78.0 - 79.9 = C+ 93.0 - 97.9 = A 73.0 - 77.9 = C 90.0 - 92.9 = A- 70.0 - 72.9 = C- 88.0 - 89.9 = B+ 68.0 - 69.9 = D+ 83.0 - 87.9 = B 63.0 - 67.9 = D 80.0 - 82.9 = B- 60.0 - 62.9 = D

COMPUTERIZED PROGRESS REPORTS:

At the middle and end of each card marking, all students will be given a computerized progress report to be taken home and signed by their parents and returned to me for agrade.   This computerized progress report will show the exact percentage amount and grade your child is earning.   It will also list all class assignments and quizzes your child has taken.   In addition, the progress report will show the average points earned and the grade for every assignment and clearly demonstrate if there are any missing assignments, incomplete assignments, and by chance, if there was any cheating.   *If you wish, I can send home additional progress reports at any time.   If you need to get in touch with me you can call me at Seitz (734-285-2043), send me a note, or email me (seitzteacher@yahoo.com).

STUDENT NUMBERS AND PIN NUMBERS:

Each student will be assigned a nine-digit "Student Number ,"(different than their school I.D. number) and a four-digit "Pin Number." These numbers are needed for a parent or student to use my online web page. Look for "STUDENT GRADES'." Keep a copy of my "Web Page," Student Number, and Pin Number.

ONLINE PARENT NOTIFICATION FOR HOMEWORK AND STUDENT GRADES:

I have created an online web page that lists homework and secured, confidential student grades.   In order to view your son/daughter's grade you need a to enter in a nine-digit student number and a four-digit pin number.
