H. Bunkers Gone--Was 75 Years
Prominent Granville Farmer Goes to Reward-Granville News Notes
Henry Bunkers Sr., one of Granville's most respected citizens died at his home Friday afternoon Feb. 16th after an illness of several months duration. He was born at Guttenberg, Ia., 75 years ago, Nov. 25th. He was married to Barbara Simmerl at Dyersville in 1875. They came to Sioux County in 1887 locating on a farm near Alton where they lived for several years. They moved from there to a farm 2 miles northwest of Granville where they resided until 7 years ago when they moved to Granville. He is survived by his wife and ten children Henry, John and Emil of Dell Rapids, Anton of Madison, Minn., Frank of Mohnamon Minn., and Mrs. Jno. Graff, Mrs. Jos. Bachman, Miss Munda and Otto of Granville. He is also survived by a brother living in Vernon, Texas. Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's church at 9 o'clock Monday morning. Mr. Bunkers was a good husband and father and a kindly neighbor and friend and will be missed by all who knew him. All of his children were able to attend the funeral. Others from away were, Mr. and Mrs. Jno. Jungbluth of Waterloo, Mrs. S. O'Connor or Washburn and H. Bunkers of Remsen.
