| Obit | 12 February 1943 | OBITUARY: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mrs. Barbara Bunkers Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Bunker of Granville, were held on Monday morning at 9 o'clock in St. Joseph's church. Rev. J. Dalhoff officiating. Barbara Simmerl Bunker was born Jan. 1, 1856 in Luxemburg, Europe, and died Feb. 4 1943 at Des Moines, where she made her home with her daughter, Miss Munda Bunker since Oct. 20, 1941. She came to this county at an early age, and on July 20, 1875 at Dyersville, Iowa she was married to Henry Bunker. They came to Granville and made their home a farm 2 miles north west of town, and lived there until 1916 when they retired and moved to town. To this union were born twelve children, 5 surviving their mother, namely: John of Garretson, S.D., Tony of Madison, Minn. , Emil of Dell Rapds, S.D., Nora, Mrs. Joe Bachmann of Granville, and Miss Munda of Des Moines. Mr. Bunker preceded her in death on Feb. 15. 1924. A son, Joseph died in 1911, Elizabeth in 1915, Otto in 1925, Frank in 1926, Clara, Mrs. Art Full in 1933, Henry in 1936, and Catherine, Mrs. John Graff in 1941. She leaves the five children, 50 grand children, many great grand children, and 2 sisters, Mrs. Sophie O'Conner of Waterloo and Mrs. Suzan O'Conner of Milwaukee, Wis. Interment was at St. Joseph's cemetery, with Rev. Clemens Knobbe and Rev. J. A. Gerlemann officiating at the grave side services. Pall bearers were 6 grandsons namely Sgt. Robert Bachmann of Camp Crowder, Mo., Magnus (the rest of the obituary is not here).
