Personal Biography

 Mr. Andrew R. Keaton

Director and Founder

Brotherhood on the Move Inc.

Mr. Andrew R. Keaton was born in Springfield Mass June 13th 1966 and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Thomas Aquinas College in upstate New York in the field of Communications and Film Studies.  

 Mr. Keaton is the Founder and Director of Brotherhood on the Move Inc., a non-profit organization serving the youth of greater New England and other urban cities across the country. As Founder and Director, Mr. Keaton serves as the driving force behind the organization’s efforts to develop and strengthen youth.

 Mr. Keaton has over thirteen (13) years of corporate, non-profit, and educational leadership and he has a strong history as an advocate for our youth.  He is an author, leader, trainer, motivational speaker and relationship counselor.  Mr. Keaton founded Brotherhood on the Move, Inc. in 2002, and since its inception, Brotherhood on the Move Inc. has quickly grown into a nationally recognized non-profit organization focusing on the growth and positive development of youth.

 Prior to launching Brotherhood on the Move, Inc., and pursuing his passion for education and the development of youth, Mr. Keaton had a successful sales & marketing career with Nautica Enterprises, Inc., (sportswear) and Game Time Inc., a sports and playground equipment manufacturer.  Mr. Keaton began his career in corporate America as a production assistant for the “Montel Williams Show” and as a commercial copywriter for BSB Advertising in New York, NY. 

 Mr. Keaton’s core philosophy embraces the belief that children are our real gift from the universe and that they must be respected and cultivated.

 The mission of Brotherhood on the Move Inc., is to Cultivate the Youth into Productive Citizens. This dynamic nonprofit organization accomplishes its core objectives through providing training opportunities and developing educational partnerships with elementary, middle and high schools, boys and girls clubs, the juvenile justice system, state and federal correctional facilities, counseling centers, education administrators, mentors, churches, foster care providers and parents.   Brotherhood on the Move Inc. also offers various programmatic initiatives to develop youth across the nation including:

  • Manhood Training,
  • Womanhood Training
  • Boyhood to Manhood
  • Girlhood to Womanhood
  • Spiritual Principles
  • Ethnic and Cultural Sensitivity Training
  • Family and Interpersonal Relationship Counseling

 These programs incorporate activities, instruction, curriculum, leadership and textbooks that are developed for the sole purpose of Brotherhood on the Move Inc.  

Mr. Keaton has also served as a consultant for many Washington, D.C California, Connecticut, New York and Boston based entities. Some of his notable clients include:

 Mr. Keaton also works as an Interactive Literacy Facilitator/Home Visitor for the Massachusetts Department of Education/Even Start Family Literacy Program.

 Some of Mr. Keaton’s business interests include:  Organix Promotions, Organix Soul, which assists emerging artists and relevant organizations in reaching their core target audience while broadening their appeal to a wider mass audience, Gumbo Live, a monthly showcase in Chicopee, MA that spotlights singers, bands, poets and more from around the country, and the MassUnderground Tunnel, a neo-soul, house, underground Lounge, Jazz, Neo Soul, Soul and House Music marketing and production team.

 In his free time, Mr. Keaton is a youth basketball coach and a member of the Elders Counsel of the Right Knowledge Academy in Boston. He also serves on the Springfield Anti-Drug Task Force. Mr. Keaton is a disc jockey for WTCC 90.7, a community radio station and is a member of the Black Actors Screen Guild, the National Urban League Young Professionals, and the NAACP where he previously served as the secretary for the Holyoke/Chicopee, MA Chapter of the NAACP.
