About Sisterhood On The Move
|
|
Sisterhood On The Move engages adults and youth through partnerships with community-based groups (like community centers, schools, after-school programs, homeless shelters, social service agencies) and usually offers the Rites of Passage program on-site at the host organization's facility. In particular, Sisterhood On The Move fills a critical gap in the local social service system by offering a cost-effective way for community based groups to successfully engage youth in services that positively impact their lives. Partnering agencies have reported a 20% retention rate with their youth after participating in the Rites of Passage program. By fostering wholeness and well being as well as developing tools of personal transformation in the community, Sisterhood On The Move helps shape positive youth support networks, weaken the negative impact of peer pressure and reduce incidents of teen pregnancy, drug and alcohol abuse and domestic violence in our communities.
Sisterhood on the Move is part of a network of spiritual and holistic
individuals who believe that all individuals must be empowered.
Empowerment is a function of knowing who you are, why you are on the
planet and the role you play in the divine order of life. |
