| House and Building in Tamaqua, Pa |
I found this place by pure luck during my last visit to Tamaqua, Pa. I was heading north on 309 when I passed a small tunnel on the right. When I looked back ahead of me, I caught a quick glimpse of the top of a building. The half second I had was enough to tell me it hadn't been used in a while. So, the next day I made my way back down to it, found a place to park...and started walking. There wasn't anywhere close to park, so I had a bit of a hike (and it was raining).
Luckily, I found a walking trail that led me right beside the area where this building is located. The first set of photos is what I found when I go there. I couldn't get inside the place due to some locals who were "Target Practicing" a few yards away, while having a few. I thought it better NOT to disturb them, since I wasn't sure if I was tresspassing or not (No signs were posted).
All I can tell you is that the main building (first photo), has an elevator shaft that can be seen in the center. There is a another, smaller building to the right of that (2nd Photo) that seems to go underground. This also has a stream running directly undernieth it. I don't know what this building was used for, so if you have any idea, please let me know!

The remainder of the photos are of a house located only a few yards away. This place was in BAD shape. In fact, there was a guy in a bulldozer making his way towards the house while I was there! He was busy taking down the many trees on the other side of the house, so this gave me enough time to get in and get some photos.
As you can see, this thing should have fallen down a long time ago. I've ventured into many dangerous places, but this time I decided not to try my luck by going upstairs. You can see in the photos why! I only made my way a few feet into the main hallway on the first floor, but it was enough to get some decent pictures. Although I didn't stick around to see how far the bulldozer got...I'm pretty sure that this house is nothing but firewood now.
