Comments: There are pre-drilled holes on three of the walls of this tower, intended for a semiphore and "dummy" flood lights. These parts were so unrealistic that I did not install them. The holes are easily filled, covered, OR used for your own external lighting.

Comments: I built this bridge for a new layout that never happened. This bridge has never been used. As I recall, it is a 72' bridge but I can't remember the length exactly. It seems ME has no website (reason enough for me to boycott, but their stuff is so great!), and I don't have time to wade thru Walthers 6 million listings for my advanced search. Anyway, it's longer than the 50' and shorter than the 100'. Why didn't I just measure it and convert it to HO feet? Good question.... Happy bidding! This kit was a gift to me from the Eastern Car Works guys I got to know at train shows back in Philly about 5 years ago. I dusted it off and found an interesting prototype photo to be my guide. In the proto photo you will notice how the right ladder is chopped off about half way up the car. I copied this feature, as well as the diagonal braces of the early model PRR H40 airslides. Although the rust and faded gray in the proto photo was really tempting, I decided to go with a darker shade of gray and model and paint this car as it looked right after the new Conrail re-painted it (and before they put on the roller bearing trucks!) Hence, the bottom of the car is still rusty and grungy.
