Served as a technical resource, consultant, software developer and mentor to clients developing with Microsoft Visual FoxPro, Visual SourceSafe and SQL Server

 

2001

Director of ASP Development, USDataCenters, Inc., Marlborough, MA

 

Maintenance, troubleshooting and enhancement of BugCentral, an Internet-based anomaly tracking system using Microsoft IIS, ISAPI, COM, MTS and Visual FoxPro 6.0. Converted a single-developer project into a multiple-developer team, introducing source code control, coding standards, code reviews, iteration planning, manual and automated testing. Developed stateless data handler object in preparation for migration to SQL Server and for ease of maintenance. Enforced and tested the web site security via updates, security policies, hardware, auditing and other means.

 

1994 – 2000

Director of Development, Blackstone Incorporated, Waltham, MA

 

Development Lead or Technical Lead on database application development projects ranging from two weeks to six months. Responsible for the analysis, data design, object design, project plan, scheduling, programming, code review, testing and deployment of applications for 2 to 28,000 desktops as developed by a team of 2 to 8 developers. Applications included crime analysis, financial instrument management, logistical analysis and planning, document management, retail point-of-sale and inventory management. Developed programming standards, tested and enhanced application frameworks, extended frameworks for client-server uses. Interviewed clients to identify goals and resource restrictions; proposed and executed optimal strategies that addressed those needs. Worked with Microsoft Visual FoxPro, xCase, Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL Server, Stonefield Data Toolkit, Microsoft Exchange, Visual MaxFrame Professional, Omtool Fax Sr., Visio, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Back Office.

Full-time programming in Visual FoxPro and related xBase dialects. Systems developed for a variety of clients including state agencies, financial service corporations, educational institutions and others.

 

Professional Achievements

Eight-time winner of Microsoft's “Most Valuable Professional” Award for support of Microsoft’s FoxPro product line. Only thirty-three people received this award, worldwide, in 1995. Served on Microsoft’s Steering Committee to improve MVP program, 1996-1998.

Microsoft Certified Solution Developer and Microsoft Certified System Engineer: advanced Certified Professional designations with specialties in SQL Server, Windows NT Server, Windows 95, Visual FoxPro, TCP/IP and others.
