Orcs versus Wood Elves (3000pt each side)
Snagtoof!
What iz it Nasgash? grumbles Snagtoof, for the first time annoyed since he made that promise to eat his boar. While the boar was good, it meant he had to walk now, and they have been doing a lot of walking recently. After fleeing from the more populated empire land Snagtoof took his much smaller party west along some foothills of a mountain range and the land was steadily getting more woodsy. Along the way he had met up with a bunch of small orc and goblin raiding bands and now was once again leading quite a force. His best new ally was Goredoff, a powerful great orc shaman who was accompanied by an orc Big'un guard.
Da gobbos, dey all starten to act funny. Dey are all sniffin at the air and looking around wide eyed and stikin together in close groups, answered Nasgash.
Whats so `eird about dat. Dose little goblinz iz always actin strang. Snagtoof said absent mindedly,Comes from being so small I's think.
Yeah, but dey aren't even fighten amongst themselves boss.
Now THAT is strange, said Snagtoof, suddenly wary.
There are strange echoes in the Waagh here, added Goredoff, somefing is definitely going on. Snagtoof nodded in agreement to Goredoff's statement. Ever since Goredoff joined, Snagtoof has taken him on as something of an advisor. Nasgash wasn't exactly sure why. Goredoff spoke real funny like and it was hurting his head to listen. Maybe it was the way Goredoff's eyes glowed in the dark, and the way he made your hair stand up whenever he walked by.
Snagtoof looked up and saw a small village up ahead. He didn't see any hummies walking around, but there were a lot of trees and they could hide anything.
Lets stop at dat town up dere and I'll put some sense in dem heads, Snagtoof said.
Just then a blur shot through the center of their group spearing one of the many snotlings to the ground.
Snagtoof picked up the large arror, looked at the funny feathers on the end, and watched the snotling slide off onto the ground where it was quickly eating by the savage orc shaman's boar.
Maybe we should set up da rock lobba here, said Snagtoof as he wondered where that arrow came from...
The wood elf scouts quitely shadowed the large orc force that was just north of the north eastern edge of Loren forest. It is always best not to needlessly pick a fight with an orc because they fight dirty, but Randal sent one of the scouts to the nearest wood elf border guard as soon as he saw the orcs. Just in case.
Randal, it looks like they're going to one of our northern trading posts. We don't usually get attacked way up here so there are no guards there. We gotta stop them, said one of Randal's other scouts.
Don't worry. Hopefully our forces will get here soon, said Randal, then we'll teach those orcs quite a lesson.
A shadow went across their bodies as the great war eagle of a wood elf captain touched down next to them.
Help has arrived my friends. Look, even the forest is coming alive to protect us this day, the captain said as dryads can flowing, almost dancing, through the undergrowth. While they watched the dryads what appeared to be a strong oak, turned then walked toward where the gathering wood elf army was. Prepare for battle my friends, and thanks for the warning, we will be victorious this day.
Snagtoof could now see why the goblins were acting funny. He would be worried to if those tall fast-moving pale hummies didn't look like such sissies.
Dey are called elves, said Goredoff, holding his knobby staff that he never let anyone else touch.
What?, asked Snagtoof, while looking west towards the big'uns and the savage boar boyz that he told Nasgash to keep under control.
You wanted to know what dey are, Goredoff replied, Elves. Dey are called woodsy elves.
I never asked dat.... Ah, never mind. You just make sure none of their sissy magic kills any of my boyz, Snagtoof snarled while looking back towards the rock lobber. THAT better be better built than last time. He then looked east towards the mass of goblin near what appeared to be a large slingshot.
What do dey fink dey're doing now?, aked Snagtoof. I don't want to know.
With one last look at the funny slingshot, and one last glance at the large oak that he could have sworn moved, he pressed his attack forward.

All other magic (including Gork's warpath) is dispeled with scrolls

3 remaining elven scouts don't rally and run towards edge of board
savage boar boys are out of charge site of glade riders, so riders turn to charge them next turn
The uninjured chariot and the treeman charge the unit of goblins that charged the dryads. The goblins, screaming in terror the whole time, manage to inflict one wound on a dryad, but suffer many wounds and badly lose combat, and they are overrun, but luckily ther pursuers don't run far enough to charge other orc units. The chariot only goes 9 inches stopping about 2 inches in front of the black orcs. The treeman only moves 5, and the dryads also go 9 landing about 3 in front of the orc spearmen
General with bow of loren hits nothing
The injured chariot wheeled to prepare to charge the big'uns or the goblins if necessary
The elven archers behind the wall shoot at the remaining goblins killing 5, the other archer unit shoots at the big'uns killing 1
The wardancers charge the savage boar boyz and killing one, but the boar boyz return with 5 kills then pursue slaughtering all the wardancers and at the back of the right forest

Wolf riders charge the 11 elven archers on the left hill, but the elves stand and fire killing 3 of the remaining 6 wolves causing them to panic and flee once again proving my wolf riders are useless
The orc spearmen charged the dryads, who used oak aspect, and the goblin shaman used magic to finish off the wounded one, while the orcs killed another, and the dryad only returned by killing 2 orcs, but they didn't flee combat (and I forgot to lap round)
The black orc with snagtoof charged the chariot, but only caused 3 wounds, with none in return, the chariot fleed to far to catch, but in pursuit they did charge the treeman who snagtoof definitely saw moving now.
The remaining crazed goblins charge the funny smellin elven archers behind the wall and managed to kill 2 of them even though they needed 6's to hit, the elves only killed one in return and fled, but the little gobbos overran them
The big'uns just marched left toward the center of the table
The orc boar chariot charged the flank of the last elven archer unit, killing 8 of them and catching the last two, who only fled 4 inches, before tuning into the farm wall finally ending its rampage

The elven archers on the left hill shot at the fleeing wolves killing the 2 remaining normal one and inflicting one wound on the hero
The dryads kill two orcs, but the orcs returned by killing 2 dryads, this time they ran, but the orcs didn't catch them.
The treeman received only 1 wound, cause snagtoof wasn't in base combat with him, but he only killed one black orc. The black orcs easily won the combat and caught the fleeing treeman chopping him down savagely and puruing into the elven chariot again
The elf chariot charged into the flank of the goblins killing 6 of them, routing them, and then catching and slaughtering them
The glade riders just ran towards the center of the board knowing the battle was pretty much lost
The lvl 4 elven mage attempted to cast a spell, but miscast causing him to lose control of the magic and fly around randomly
We started this battle late so the elven general fled as night approached and it was a large victory for the orcs (1250 victory points to 490 points after only 3 rounds)
The elven general is sitting in his excellently trained elven steed along with his equally well trained glade guard as he watches those dark-skinned orcs chop up the once beautiful treeman like fire kindling. He then looks ahead and watches the effect of magic when you try too hard. He should have retreated before but instead he let his magician attempt to save the day and now he must watch his childhood friend being wracked by loose magical energies. After his magician finally slams into the stone wall near his chariot, the crew lifts his unconscious body into the chariot and the wood elf general signals the retreat, looking back one last time at the dead treeman. He must remember to send a prayer and an offering to the center of the forest for the great sacrifice of one of its own large citizens, the wood elf general only wished that it had been enough.
Snagtoof leans back in the warmth of those strange multicolored flames that are coming from the burning wood of that funny tree. He smiles with delight again when he thinks about how fun it was to chop down a tree that could scream.
It iz a lot easier when `dey don't `ave dose loud machines that shoot metal ballz, said Nasgash, while eating an arm of one of those funny looking elves.
Yes, but `dat ain't why we won, Snagtoof said, Dis time its cause we scared the skin-color right out of them pale hummies, or elves, or whatever. Dey didn't stand a chance against a true waaagh.
Dose crazy gobbos actually did good too. Maybe it was cause dey were too scared to fight each other, or maybe its cause of dat funny slingshot which made dem fly. Said Nasgash, Too bad dey don't know how to land.
Snagtoof smiled at the value of flying gobbos and reminded himeself to ask Goredoff where he could find more of these elves.
