by Snagtoof
Orcs versus Empire (2000pt each side)
Ey, get off dat you filffy gobbo!, snarls the scarred huge orc Snagtoof as he wrenches his boot out of the hand of a night goblin. He then smacks it across the head with the back of his armoured fist, sending it rolling out of his large, for an orc, tent.
All Dem gobbos iz getting restless Snagtoof, says Nasgash, another large orc but not near in size to Snagtoof, as he throws another snotling leg into the fire
I know, `dats why I didn't kill `em. Snagtoof grumbles, 'N don't `orry, I decidez dat we `ill attack `dem hummies wit da loud machines. We leave now, get dose stupid gobbos together.
Are we ready for dem boss, you said we have to gather more greenies, asked Nasgash.
We iz ready said Snagtoof, dey only pink-skinned hummies. If we don't kill em all, why I'll eat me own boar.
Nasgash smiles with his broken toothed grin around the leg of the snotling he had just taken a bite of. He had never fought hummies, only other orc and goblin clans. Snagtoof was a new clan boss of the BrokenTeef, who just killed the previous boss only a couple weeks ago. Already Nasgash liked him, plus Snagtoof gave him the previous boss' armour. Very nice it was, and now he finally gets to see his first hummies...

Sir Genold?, Sir Genold!
What is it Sam?, asked the aging lord of the small trading town near Averheim.
T-Th-The town peoples heard many howling wolves last night, sputtered an obviously frightened Sam.
Wolves are nasty creatures of the dark, yes, but nothing to cause my message boy to run panting for breath all the way across town.
B-But some f-farmers just r-ran in from their lands to the south and they- and and they..
Out With It!!, yelled a thoroughly annoyed Genold.
They say it was goblins, whispered Sam.
I'm sorry Sam, I was up late last night thinking about some diplomatic matters to the north. Goblins you say, quotes Genold while stroking his trim beard in thought, Now THAT could be a problem. Hurry up and assemble the town militia, we'll take a look at this.
Sir, some townspeople are already declaring this the end of us, a prophet is telling everyone of our doom, says Sam, already back into his nasally whine.
Flagellants. Better prepare my knightly guard too. I need to be there to show my citizens that there are no worries before those flagellants cause a panic riot. Hurry Sam
As Sam turns to leave Genold suddenly grabs his arm.
Just in case, you better tell the master engineer to get some black powder from the basements and to bring out the `Border Guard'.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Genold looks ahead, overtop the heads of the lunatic flagellants, and watches the brutish primitive orcs and goblins milling about only a longbow shot's distance away. Genold fought Orcs twice in his life, and they are why he stays on his trusty steed now, because his left leg is too weak to run on.
It must have been what, 15 years ago, that he was on the ground wrestling with that mammoth orc. If not for the Orcs sword swing glancing off his medallion he would have been dead. Too bad that glance landed that huge crude blade in his upper left thigh. Too bad for the orc that Genold always keeps a sharpened dagger in his right gauntlet. The think purplish blood was very hard to clean off his armour.
Hopefully this battle turns out better than that last one, though there are many more of them then I thought there would be.
Genold looks south along the lines of the orcs, overtop the head of the flagellants. He wrinkles his mouth in disgust at their lack of cleanliness and their shoddy equipment. Their rock thrower looks like it was built 5 minutes ago, and there are little green snotlings climbing all over it. The Orc chariot looks ramshackle too, but it also looks all too study.
Genold then looks eastward towards the `Border Guard'. A cannon, a hell blaster volley gun, and a mortar operated by the master engineer himself.
Yes, this battle should go much better.
At this point a large Orc sitting on a gigantic boar lets out a mighty bellow and the orcs come rushing forward.

General and his knight continue around forest

Orc general snagtoof kills 4 more spearmen, still loses combat and realizes that this is going nowhere so he flees this time, too far for them to catch
Handgunners shoot and kill one wolfrider
Cannon shoots and hits trolls, causing 6 wounds, but the trolls regenerate 5 of them, and shrug off the hit!
Swordsmen and greatswords advance more
Magic is uneventful
Snagtoof turns around rallying for battle, but trolls are stupid
Chariot kills last 2 flagelants
Wolf riders charge handgunners (hand gunner stand and fire killing no wolves) wolves kill 2 handgunners, handgunners kill on wolf rider, combat stands
Boar boys charge spearmen and pursue killing them all, including the wizard

Snagtoof challenges Genold again and he heroically accepts. Genold can't use his lance now that his steed is no longer charging and his age proves no match for Snagtoof's entire life of only battle. Snagtoof kills him while receiving no wounds himself. Neither side flees combat
Orc general is hungry for dinner at this point and empire is declared victors
Snagtoof flees while signaling his black orcs to follow. While galloping off on his boar he grabs the goblin shaman by his neck and save him from the greatswords. The trolls at seeing their boss run off join him.
Nooooooooooooooo!!!!! screams Sam, My lord!
Don't hold pity for me Sam, cough cough, says a struggling Genold, I protected my town as I was entrusted by the emperor himself to do. That orc was strong and we took heavy casualties, but we prevailed. Please inform my wife the duchess of what happened, and bury me with my men and my wizard.
With those last words the empire lord dies on the battle field were the orc horde was turned back before it could start ravaging the lands.
Arrr, dat' `urts you stupid clod yells Nasgash as he clouts a goblin across the side of the head sending him rolling out of the tent.
You iz lucky you lived greenskin, mentions Snagtoof, maybe dat armor iz better den I thought.
Maybe, agrees Nasgash, or maybe I knowz when I can't win a fight against too many hummies. Dem metal hummies on dose large beasts were tough as nailz.
Yes you are right, but no matter. Greenskins are like air. Der are alwayz more, Snagtoof replied, we just `ave to go and get `em.
