Rules > House Rules
Here are some house rules that we
use at my local hobby shop:
- Backup rule - any unmounted
unit may move backwards at half speed, and may not march
while backing up. Any mounted unit may backup at quarter
speed, and may not march while backing up.
- No auto kill weapons - no
magic weapons which instantly kill (slay, destroy, etc.)
may be used
- No magic weapons over 50
points may be used
- Declare all shooting first -
before any dice are rolled or measurements made in the
shooting phase, all units/characters that are shooting
must be declared. This rule eliminates situations that
arise when two cannons are next to eachother. The first
cannon is fired and the measurement is made. This
measurement is used to help guess the second range. This
would be unrealistic, because all shooting is supposed to
happen at the same time.
- This rule was mentioned, but
is not always used: If a unit is behind a wall or other
source of hard cover, allocate cannon shots fired at them
in this manner: roll a D6. 1-3 wall is hit by cannon ball
and takes damage from the cannon as normal (cannon ball
is stopped by the wall). 4-6 cannon ball travels over the
wall as normal and may hit the unit as normal
- Color magic may be used by
Empire wizards instead of the normal Battle Magic deck.
