Lizardmen...the only weakness of
lizardmen is... er...emmm, well the only thing I can think of is
the low toughness of the skinks but the low point value makes
this ok.,
so...no weaknesses.
I am (as you probarbly know) a lizardmen player, In my career
i've played a lot of battles
of the 40 times I played with my lizardmen i only lost 7 times!!!
This archievement makes me according the games workshop a slann
master, And If I make a few terrain
pieces I become A slann lord...
This is what i've got so far... ( I do not need more)
130 Skink warriors with bows, (i never take javelins)
87 saurus warriors equiped either with hand weapons or with
spears
10 Temple guard ALWAYS protecting my slann lord (yes I need more)
1 Salamander
1 Stegadon
Tichi-wichi cold-one riders + 2 extra
1 Teradon riden by a skink hero (very nasty trick if equiped with
potion of Strenght and the heart of woe)
1 Kroxigor ( I don't ussualy take kroxigors because they can't
regenerate like trolls)
Venerable lord kroak
Lotl-botl
Kroq
Oxayotl
Inxi-huinzi
itzi-bitsi Tenehuini
Lord mazdamundi
a bunch of command groups hero's champions and Ofcourse a Slann
mage priest lord Qupacoc .
Neat tricks with lizardmen
Simple, a slann lord with a blade of cocacila, black amulet,
healing potion, crown of command, Skull wand of kaloth
and a banner of wrath in a large unit of temple guard marching
under the dread banner. A slann lord which cannot be killed!!!
(The only person how might kill him is a
vampire lord with a sword of destruction riding a zombie

Mounted on a zombie dragon) Altough I also give him a small
chance of succes. The blade of cocacila is always handy against,
mad cap mushrooms, heart of woe,
black gem of gnar and skull wands
Black amulet for a second unmodified 4+ special save after the
mighty shield of the old ones.
If somebody manages to wound him use your healing potions (just
cheat by drinking it while in H-T-H combat)
A unmodified leadership of 10, he simply can't run away because
he also is the army battle standard bearer
The skull wand of kalloth causes an enemy to take +/- 4 LD tests
per combat, 1 failed... instant dead
A banner of wrath for those annoying 1+ save cavalary coming near
you... (only for about 1000 points you have a general that can't
be killed
The job of the temple guard is simply extra attacks, and the
dread banner, so you can't run away if defeated by
a fear causing enemy... Take about 20 templeguards, or 40 saurus
warriors. You should have an invincible unit, also for the fun
you could take an extra standard bearer.
Take the banner of defiance only when you chose the 40 saurus
warriors. You always have an combat result of 10!!!!(watch out
for rear chargers though)
(Army standard +2, 3 x 2 rank bonus, 2 banners)
Enough about the invinceble slann, about the
general-taking-out-in-a-flash-characters (Or should I say in a
boem)
A Skink hero is just the one for this job if mounted on a
teradon...
Had enough about annoying dragons, invinceble characters and
other *******???
Equip this hero with (mean) a Potion of strenght, make the
******* to kill you and KABOEM there goes the ******
(he triggerd the heart of woe of course) and that only for about
117 points!! A bargain...
Another cool trick against (yeah yeah) GREATER DEAMONS, or you
take the skink above or another ass...
A skink on a cold one with a van horstmann's speculum, (your
S...7+, his ....4, your T, 7+, his...3) Cant he hurt you??
What ashame... only you can strike him down, and he can't hit
you!!!!!
Taking the dogs of war special character leonardo is a good id
too
Leonardo what's his name: Enabling you to let one unit make a
flank attack from a side chosen by you.
The second nice thing is that he can see scouts, assassins,
fanatic and other on a dice roll of 4+ every turn.
My best tactic is:.... about 127 skinks in the front of the army,
not skirmish including 2 hero's, one carrying a Ruby chalice, the
other the crown of command.
NEVER ACCEPT CHALLENGES with this tactic, one character dead is
to scarry...
NO ONE CAN KILL THIS ENTIRE UNIT (yes the only one is a Dark
sorceror with arnizipal's black horror in the flank) .
Just advance to the front shooting a hail of arrows to the enemy.
If you have read the latest rules about: The night before the
batlle, choose for equipment inspection on that unit, one skink
character has to be removed.
But al the bows has +1 TO HIT!!! always take poisenes arrows and
you can't lose...(Take an extra champion to delete for equipment
inspection)
Of course, don't shoot at scouts behind hard cover over half
range => 6 followed by a 5 Required. (I tried this, only 3
Wood elf scouts dead after a hail of 70 arrows)This
trick is always big fun if standing on a hill, always put your
skinkies in 2 ranks and... CHARGE REACTION Big fun.
