11-27-00
Bretonnians
On this section of the GW UK site,
I found an interesting Bretonnian rumor

"Q. Do you have any idea when the Bretonnia army book is
coming out?
A. Not for at least a year, but a Ravening Hordes update will
appear in White Dwarf before that."
10-23-00
Orcs and Goblins
- New Waaagghh spells
- Choppa's replace normal hand
weapons and give +1S on a charge but don't give +1 save
if used with a shield. If 2 choppas are used, no S bonus
is recieved
- Black Orc Warbosses cost a
hero+lord slot
- Black Orc characters still
stop animosity, and their units don't suffer from it.
- One unit of Orc Boyz, Savage
Orc Boyz, Boar Boys or Savage Orc Boyz can be upgraded to
Big Un'z and they get +1 WS, I, S
- Fanatics are pretty much the
same but explained in much more detail.
- Netters are upgrades to
individual night goblins in a unit (at +2 points each).
They go first and if hit remove 1 attack from the enemy.
They then also get a normal attack in the same round.

Daemons
- Daemons will not be released
in plastic.
- It is possible that Daemons
will be released as part of the Chaos army list. That is
why they are not mentioned in the new rulebook's summary
and in the back of the Empire book.
9-11-00
Orc and Goblin Rumors
- 50% of the army must be the
same race as the general
- Orcs will have +1 T and +1 WS,
but -1 BS
- Black Orcs will still have
+1S, +1WS, +1L
- Black orcs will be subject to
a new kind of animosity. If they fail they will charge
the nearest unit unless it is a unit of Black Orcs
- In a Black Orc army, you can
choose either a wizard or alternately, a beserker. The
player can choose what kind of rage they want to make it
go into at the start of the turn
- Gobbos will have +2I, and -1S
- This rumor seems kind of
strange, but there will be two new troop types, a
"head butter" and a "head-hunta"
9-10-00
Empire Rumors
- The Empire Will have a new
knightly order which will be called "Inner Circle
Knights". They will be the only Empire knights who
will be able to have a strength of 4.
- The Empire will have a Cult of
Ulric army list which can be used instead of the main
list.
8-20-00
- The new Warhammer edition will
be released in a boxed set (which includes a rulebook,
templates, dice, and both Empire and Orcs starter
armies). The rulebook will also be released by itself
- The new rulebook will inlude
rules on how the play the game (obviously), as well as
siege rules and magic rules.
- The new Warhammer rulebook
will be larger than the 40k rulebook for the current
edition!
- Each spell deck will only have
6 spells in it
- Race specific magic will
return with the release of each army book, not with the
new edition boxed set.
- Double handed weapons will
still always strike last, except on the charge when they
strike first.
- Any armor saves will be failed
on a roll of 1 (including 1+ saves).
- Fast cavalry will be able to
march and still fire their weapons. They will also be
able to flee if charged and automatically rally if they
are caught.
- Wearing heavy armor and
carrying a shield will no longer slow a model down.
- There is a special rule called
stubborn which allows models to roll break tests on their
unmodified leadership.
- Flyers will now move 20"
and will lose the flying high rule.
- Chariots still do d6 impact
hits. However, scythes now add +1 impact hit.
- Wearing heavy armor and
carrying a shield will no longer cause the -1 movement
penalt.
- Dwarfs will get a 5+ save from
carrying a hand weapon and shield.
- There will be some changes in
how combat results are figured out. Rank bonus will still
be a factor, except each rank of cavalry will add 2 to
rank bonus and each rank of large monsters (orgres,
minotaurs, etc.) will add the number of their wounds to
rank bonus. This will strengthen these models
tremendously!
Rumors for 8-12-00
- There will be no flying high
in 6th edition.
Rumors for 8-5-00
- Here are some rumors for the
empire knights in the new edition:
Empire knights of the blazing sun will be -1 to hit.
Reiksguard knights will have a 1+ save because they own
the finest armor in the empire
- Here are some rumors for dwarf
special units:
Dwarf rangers will apparently have the ability to
infiltrate
Dwarf longbeards will be immune to panic
- The magic rules will be
entirely different in the new edition. I heard this from
a store owner who heard it directly from GW, so I assume
it is accurate. The new magic system will use dice
instead of cards. Each army will have a dice pool
starting with 2 dice. A 1st level mage will add 1 die to
the pool, a 2nd 2 and so on for the 4 levels of mages.
Each spell has a difficulty level ranging from 3 to 15.
When a mage wants to attempt to cast a spell, he must
decide how many dice from the pool he wants to use, and
then roll them. If the score of the dice is higher than
the casting cost of the spell, then it is cast, unless
his opponent attempts to dispel it. The dispelling is
also dice based. The dispelling wizard can take dice out
of his dice pool and roll them. If his score beats the
casting wizard's score, then the spell is successfully
dispelled. Also, a first level wizard may only roll one
die at one time, a second 2 and so forth. If at any time
double 6's are rolled by the casting wizard, the spell is
cast with something like total power and the wizard rolls
on a table to see exactly what happens. If double 1's are
rolled, however, the spell is a terrible failure, and the
wizard must roll on a disaster table to see what
catastrophic result occurs (wizard's head explodes, etc.)
Rumors for 7-31-00
- Instead of the usual types of
Magic (Necromantic, WAAAGH!, High Magic, etc.) the 6th
edition will be divided into different lores such as:
Beasts, Death, Fire, Metal, Shadow, Heavens, Life, and
Light.
