Terri's Egyptian Birthday Party 2009
I turned 47 happily this year on July 24th.
On my actual birthday, Friday, Sean and I had a quiet
evening at home with decadent, delivered pizza, a game
of Senet (board handmade by Sean for me), and a movie
on our huge, new, big, screen TV!
The next day we filled the house with friends for my
biggest party ever! We had a ball Egyptian style.

The Senet game Sean made for the party.
It's really fun to play. I won, fitting for my birthday!

Sean was so good to me. I'd had a difficult
couple of days at work and I was so tired
but he found a way to help me enjoy my birthday.

Birthday gifts and goodies.

Day of the party, the Egyptian hall is covered
with a beautiful cloth I brought from Egypt.
It awaits the grand unveiling.

I got so many lovely flowers as gifts, I love them!

The food was amazing! I made Salata (Egyptian green salad),
Ful Nabed (Egyptian Bean Soup), Koshari (Egyptian Pasta),
Basboosa (Semolina Cakes), Ros Bel Aban (Egyptian Rice
Pudding) and Sean did Kebabs on the grill. Our friends
added so many more yummy dishes.
Everyone raved about the good food!

Katy was my helper hostess. We had about 23 people!

I put up this map of the Nile I got in Egypt.

Several of the women I went to Egypt with were
at the party including some who traveled from California
for the weekend! Left to right: Shari, Lou Ann, Karle and Me.

My young friend, Amanda and her boyfriend Mark.
Aren't they a cute couple! They are nice people.

The March of the Birthday Flowers across the counter!

Sean suggested a group photo. We moved outside
since there were too many to fit in an indoor photo.

Everyone pose like an Egyptian!

All 5 of the Egyptians, left to right: Lou Ann,
Karle, Juliana, Me and Shari. 5 of the 11 from
the group was really amazing!

At the end of the evening the hallway was open for guests to use.

My Cleopatra shoes!

A gorgeous gift from Connie. She made this
Hathor pendant for me!

Marie gave me this great architecturally styled
ornament for my studio.
